Visual creators struggle to find a photo-first social home
People who use social platforms for art and photos say feeds are crowded with ads and video recommendations, while posts from accounts they follow can be hard to see. Artists and photo-sharing users are looking for alternatives with a usable gallery experience, but the requests point to several different platforms and needs rather than one obvious replacement. A focused client for an existing social network could address feed and gallery frustrations without requiring a new network to attract users first.
For artists and photo-sharing social users. Mentioned from May 2024 to May 2026 on Bluesky.

I genuinely don’t want to be on instagram anymore… it’s so frustrating to be served an ad every other post, only shown posts if it’s a reel or video and despite those I follow actively posting new things, I see them days later. Any suggestions of photo/video focused social apps?
I mean like, I'd pay a little monthly fee for a GOOD usable social website that wasn't filled with trash and useless bells and whistles. Like if Bsky had a premium member thing that gave users a full fledged gallery tab for example
