Remote tabletop players struggle to play on their own schedules
People who want to play card or board games remotely can be stuck coordinating live sessions or improvising with physical decks and streamed hands. One player also describes difficulty tracking complex card effects, while another wants an asynchronous chess game with clear turn and move tracking. These signals point to flexible remote play, though they do not establish demand for one universal game platform.
For casual remote tabletop players. Mentioned from Oct 2023 to Jun 2026 on Bluesky and Hacker News.

Is there an app or website to use or do we need physical decks and like to stream our hands and stuff?
I would love two wall mounted e-ink displays showing chess boards so my 14 year old son could play chess with his grandfather. I imagine the game keeping track of whose turn it is and being able to give voice commands to make moves
