Developers struggle to make code contributions visible and searchable
Developers and repository maintainers cannot quickly see who worked where: folder-level activity is buried in repository history, while contributors may need to assemble their work across repositories and code hosts by hand. This makes repository restructuring and credible contribution portfolios harder, and recruiters say relevant code can be fragmented across platforms or private. A useful product could summarize only the repositories it can access, so it would not provide a complete picture of every developer’s work.
For open-source contributors, repository maintainers, and technical sourcers. Mentioned from Jan 2024 to Aug 2025 on Bluesky, Hacker News and Stack Exchange.

A first attempt at listing my various OSS contributions. Bit of a manual process, but nice to see it all come together
