Technical users struggle to get reliable answers from documentation
Software developers and other technical users need specific answers buried in long, scattered, or hard-to-navigate documentation. Keyword search and forum skimming can be tedious, while general-purpose LLMs may invent interface options or return answers that are difficult to verify. Version differences and inconsistent documentation formats make it harder to trust a result.
For software developers and technical users. Mentioned from Nov 2020 to Aug 2026 on Bluesky, GitHub, Hacker News and Stack Exchange.

I would pay for an LLM that you could feed a bunch of software user manuals and tutorials and forum posts into that would actually answer "how do I do x" accurately instead of hallucinating menu items
I want LLMs to answer simple, but tedious questions that arise when I do the thinking. I want them to help me find relevant sections in multi-thousand page datasheets regardless of whether I happened to use the same synonym that documentation's author has used.
