C and C++ developers struggle to reproduce builds across environments
C and C++ developers find it difficult to get projects building consistently across computers and operating systems. Compiler, library, and platform differences make setup and dependency management tedious, while some developers resort to writing scripts or abandon projects before getting started. Existing approaches can require learning and assembling additional tools rather than offering a simple, repeatable workflow.
For C and C++ developers. Mentioned from Nov 2023 to Mar 2026 on Bluesky, Hacker News and Stack Exchange.

I do not want to learn a completely unrelated tool and spend hours writing some scripts just to be able to continue working on my project when in any other programming language (like Go, Rust, JS), I can just install the runtime, clone the repo, run a command, and everything is handled for me seamlessly like it should…
Getting started with a C or C++ project is such a pain in the ass that I won't even bother
